This past season 12 Novaquatics athelets were named to the USA Swimming Scholastic All-American team. We at NOVA our proud of our athletes for excelling both in and out of the pool. The 13-14 girl’s relay team of Andrea Felix, Kate Lee, Jami Hwang, and Lauren Vitort broke the SCS record in the 200 Medley at the recent Junior Olympic held at Golden West College. Their time of 1:47.60, beat the old SCS record of 1:47.74 from previous NOVA swimmers in 2003 “It’s really fun to be a part of this,” said Kate Lee “especially since it was such an exciting race. We only won it by .06.”

The 2014 edition of the Pacific Coast All-Star meet, a unique event that pits some of the best age-group swimmers from the four USA Swimming LSC’s that touch the Pacific Ocean: Southern California, Pacific Swimming, Oregon, and Pacific Northwest Swimming. The meet this year was held at Evergreen State College in a yards course. Novaquatics recently placed six swimmers on the SCS All-Star Team traveling to Olympia, WA for the Pacific Coast All-Star Meet on January 4-5 Samantha Pearson, Kevin Tu, Andrea Felix, Lauren Vitort, Hunter Hitchens, and Ethan Archer will be joining All-Star Head Coach and NOVA Senior Coach Ken LaMont as members of a 32 swimmer squad to to compete against All-Star Teams from Pacific Swimming, Pacific Northwest Swimming, and Oregon Swimming. Day 2 of Junior Nationals In Greensboro was a recorded setting day for the Nova girls team. Courtney Mykkanen broke Hayley Piersol's 2002 team record in the 400 IM. Courtney swam a 4:17.31 breaking Hayley's 4:17.84 time. Then the relay team of Carly Perri, Brittany Kampfer, Meagan Popp and Courtney Mykannen broke the SCS and the Nova team record for the 15-16 girls 800 free relay.
