NOVA Swim League (NSL)

NOVA Swim League (NSL), taking place annually from April to June, is a series of one day intrasquad meets where swimmers in Bronze and Developmental groups aree divided into 4 different teams to compete against each other for some added competition. Each team will have a head coach and a few assistant coaches to help their team with meet warm up and to organize relays.

Format:

There will be 4 NSL meets, 2 Distance meets, and 1 NSL Finals meet. For the 4 NSL meets, all four teams will compete against each other split into two sessions: 11 & Up and 10 & Under. Swimmers will try to score points for their team by placing in the top 10 in their events. Each age group will have 4 individual events and 1 relay (points are doubled for relays). The distance meets will be one session and won't count towards scoring, but will give swimmers an opportunity to swim some more challenging events that aren't offered at the NSL meets. After each NSL meet, we will award points to each team based on what place they got in the meet: 4 points for 1st place, 3 for 2nd, 2 for 3rd, and 1 for 4th. These points will basically be the team standings throughout the season. After the 4 NSL meets, the two teams with the highest number of points in the standings will compete in a Championship Finals Dual meet for 1st and 2nd place, and the two teams with the least amount of points in the standings will compete in a Consolation Finals Dual meet for 3rd and 4th place.

Long Course Meets:

In the past, the Bronze/Developmental/Intro groups did not participate in any Long Course Meets. Over the last couple of years, we added a Long Course meet to the schedule and have had some very good results, with most of the athletes performing well and really enjoying the meet. Therefore, we now hold some of the NSL Meets Long Course each year. They are indicated in the schedule below (SC = Short Course. LC = Long Course).
